In the March 21, 2011 issue of the New Yorker, there’s an interesting article on two popular therapists in California who cater to the Hollywood field of writers, actors, producers, etc. using Jungian techniques. They are Barry Michels and Phil Stutz and they treat patients for writer’s block, stagefright, insecurity, etc. Apparently discussion of shadow is common among many in Hollywood.
Their methods sound very direct and in current-day language and are an interesting take on Jungian thought. You may have to have a New Yorker subscription to read the entire article online—check the link above.
