The Asheville Jung Center is presenting a Global Web Based Seminar on Thursday, September 20, 2012, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST. The title is “Bridging West and East: C.G. Jung and Richard Wilhelm, a Fateful Relationship.” Richard Wilhelm was a German sinologist, theologian, and missionary who was most well known for his translation of the I Ching. Presenters are Murray Stein, Training and Supervising Analyst at the International School of Analytical Psychology (ISAPZurich) in Zürich, Switzerland; Bettina Wilhelm, granddaughter of Richard Wilhelm and a professional filmmaker; and Shiuya Sara Liuh, a Training Candidate at ISAPZurich and a psychotherapist in practice in Taipei, Taiwan.
In 2012 Bettina Wilhelm published an 87-minute documentary, “Wisdom of Changes,” about her grandfather and the I Ching. You can view the trailer here.

The Asheville Jung Center will be hosting a 90-minute live webinar from Guangzhou, China on April 13, 2012 titled “The Psychology of the Heart–Cultural Truth from a Chinese Jungian Analyst” with Jungian analyst and professor Heyong Shen.
“Carl Jung had a strong pull to the Chinese culture. He studied the language and wrote extensively on Chinese symbolism, particularly the I Ching. Jung once said that Chinese characters are readable archetypes. The image of the heart, is the core of Chinese culture and its philosophy. This webinar will explore the images of the heart in China, and discuss their meaning in Jungian analysis. We will have an indepth PowerPoint lecture as well as opportunities to ask Professor Shen live questions to China from your computer microphone or keyboard.”

The Asheville Jung Center is hosting a second webinar on the film “A Dangerous Method.” This one is titled “A Dangerous Method,” the Film – Historical and Clinical Reflections” and the presenters are Murray Stein, President of the International School of Analytical Psychology (ISAPZ) in Zurich, Switzerland; Angela Graf-Nold, historian of psychoanalysis; and Jan Wiener, a senior training analyst at the Society of Analytical Psychology in London.
