Possible books are: The Undiscovered Self by C. G. Jung, The Earth Has A Soul: C.G.Jung on Nature, Technology and Modern Life by C. G. Jung, Meredith Sabini, and Joseph Henderson, The Portable Jung, edited by Joseph Campbell, On Divination and Synchronicity: The  Psychology of Meaningful Chance by Marie Louise Von Franz, Synchronicity: An Accausal Connecting Principle by C. G. Jung, Jung’s Last Years and Other Essays by Aniela Jaffé, or a book of commentary on Jung’s Red Book. If you have other suggestions of books, please send them to Mary Miller before the meeting on Tuesday. If you can’t make the meeting but would like to vote on a book, also email Mary Miller.

June 3: Topic TBD—we have had really good discussions on the Lament of the Dead so we may continue that or discuss what our theme for next year will be. If you have ideas for next year please email Mary if you won’t be able to come to this meeting.

January 7, 2014: Topic TBD. Remember, the inclement weather policy follows the Fayetteville Schools. If school is out that day, we won’t meet.

December 3: More discussion on creativity, particularly about our experiences last session with Budhi Kling.

November 19: Art therapist Budhi Kling will lead us in an experiential session on creativity.

November 5: We’ll finish discussing our questions about creativity.

October 15: Bring something you’ve come across in your world that strikes you as creative—a poem or other writing, visual art, a movie clip, dance, an experience, etc. We will also continue with our questions about creativity.

October 1: Bring your questions about creativity.

September 17: Our topic is Creativity: The Yellow Submarine. For this session, be prepared to answer the question “What is Creativity?” Choose a metaphor for yourself that represents creativity. It can be an animal, a game, a tool (kitchen, office, construction, etc.), or any other image you can come up with.

At present the plan is:
October—Language and Creativity
November—Visual Art
December—more on Language
January—Creatively Navigating the Shadow
February—Creativity and Depression
More to come!

September 3: Welcome back! In our first meeting we will discuss our theme for the year. Proposed ideas are:

– creativity
– what is reality?
– how do words and language relate to our concept of reality or creating what we consider reality?
– more in-depth study of enneagram
– intuition
